How Did You To Come Up With The Bad Metaphors In The Reckoners?

It came from me writing a bad metaphor on accident, and then thinking, “I’m going to run with this and see where it goes.” I like it as a character quirk for David. He’s a little overzealous about things, and trying so hard on the metaphors is a great way to express that.

It was really hard to do though. I thought it’d be easy, cause I write bad stuff on accident all the time. But then it took me forever to come up with them. It was the hardest part of the books. It wasn’t that they were bad, they were just a different way of thinking.
