I don’t like to compete with bookstores. They are a big part of getting my books to you, the reader, and I appreciate the work they do in that regard. They are also generous with their time and space for signings and events. When the hardcover books in the bookstores are replaced with paperbacks (about a year after the first release of the hardcover), then I try to grab some of the hardcovers to sign and sell on my own store. So we tend to sell the back stock and let the bookstores sell whatever the newest books are.
